I love the stuff over at Children Inspire Design. They are doing giveaways every month and I hope one day to be a winner! Their stuff is so happy and has great colors. I particularly love the map and the alphabet wall cards. Check it out.
It’s been forever since I’ve posted! So much has happened. Yoga teacher training, Japan, Palm Springs, and now back to the chaos of school. In my ‘free time’, I have become obsessed with Bento (Japanese for a meal in a box). I want to get all of the cute accessories and start making Bento lunches for everyone. I can’t believe how many blogs there are out there about Bento, and how detail oriented some of these moms get with their bento. I think it will be good for me. Here’s the start to a Bento blog list:
JBox (for supplies)
Just Bento (good description of bento basics)
I can’t wait to get started on this…but I’m not sure when…
Jason and I started a cleanse this week. He’s using the book Clean, and I’m using Revive which is a slower but longer process (6 weeks). I fit the description perfectly as someone who is ‘spent’ (according to Dr. Lipman). I’m hoping that this program will help me to get my old self back. So far, I’ve cut out gluten, sugar and processed foods. I think that gluten-free might be the key for me. I don’t think I’ll do it forever, but maybe when I’m done with the program I’ll cut way back on my gluten intake. Wish me luck!
There are some fun cross-stitch patterns out there–like these. My grandma used to cross-stitch like mad. We had pillows and framed art everywhere! I wouldn’t mind giving it a try. Of course, I’d also like to knit, crochet, sew….and I can barely type with the little guy around. He’s busy climbing all over me! I wouldn’t trade that for all the time to craft in the world.

I had my first Rolfing session yesterday! Rolfing is ‘structural integration’. It felt something like a deep tissue massage, but different. They work with your connective tissue rather than your muscle. Read more about it here. I’ll go through 10 sessions total. Yesterday, he worked on opening up the front of my body. When he was finished with my chest, I literally took deeper breaths than I’ve ever taken. It was crazy. I’ve always had a difficult time opening up my chest in yoga poses, and maybe this constriction was prohibiting me. After he manipulated the connective tissue on my chest, I took a deep breath and I felt like I could inhale forever… He told me that this change will last–it has undone years of ‘damage’. Wow. I’m looking forward to my next session in 2 weeks.
I baked, I played, I walked on the beach. I even went to 2 yoga classes! Off to a balanced start? I think so. This photo is from a couple of years ago–the view from where we were staying in Tortola.
The week ahead? I have my first Rolfing appointment and a much-needed haircut. I’m so excited to get rolfed.
